"in the beginning
Jel present an original stage set which incorporates
a
drum riser, backdrop plus lighting and smoke show.
Jel was the concept of Ivan from IK Creations and came
together in September of 1997. It is the result of a subtle blend of
not
only today’s great dance & rock songs, but also ballads, love
songs,
acoustic trios, heavy metal and a selection of other acts from the
‘70’s,
‘80’s and ’90’s that other groups find hard to follow.

Ivan Krippner : Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals, Drums, Rhythm & Acoustic Guitar
Ivan himself, a truly multitalented international performing artist, was born in 1971, Hamilton New Zealand where he trained in drumming from 1983 to 1994. He has been a professional drummer since 1994 and a drum tutor since 1995. Ivan has played with some of the great Waikato and Auckland bands including “WATERS”, “PAINTED BLACK”, “PLAYSTATION”, “MAGIC ROUNDABOUT”, “LIVING PROOF”, “ROXYASOXOFF”, “ICEBREAKER” and “MERCURY”. After training in lead vocals and guitar his career highlights say it all. A crowd of 27,000 in Taranaki, playing The Wellington Town Hall - Wellington, The Aotea Center – Auckland, a two week tour in Coolangatta – Gold Coast Australia, qualifying and performing for the TV show “ShowCase” and has played a majority of ‘Cosmopolitan’ clubs in the North Island.
PERFORMANCE CREDENTIALS
JEL has always been a three piece band with Ivan leading from
behind his very impressive drum kit, front and center stage. Backed up
with a uniquely animated style it made for compelling viewing. But
after
220 performances spanning from Whangarei to Palmerston, New Plymouth to
Gisborne expansion was inevitable.
In January 2000 Jel released their debut album “JULIE” to rave
reviews, presenting the need to connect with the crowd, Jel adopted the
show format sporting a brand new drummer in April 2000. This leaves
Ivan
and indeed the whole now four piece band to do what they do best
ENTERTAIN.

All performances are a culmination of years of live stage experience dating back to 1994, with awesome varied repertoires. Whether you like modern or maybe you prefer a bit of the old, techno, house, maybe a mixture.
